Baltimore beat Tampa Bay 5-3 Friday night as Pete Alonso hit a home run and drove in three runs to lead the Orioles past the Rays.
Alonso went 2-for-4 with his homer to left-center field and three RBI to pace the Baltimore offense. Dylan Beavers added a solo home run and one RBI, while Jackson Holliday contributed a double, an RBI, and a run scored.

The win snapped the Orioles' four-game losing streak and improved their record to 62-67, a game-and-a-half behind the Minnesota Twins for the third and final American League wild-card spot.
Tampa Bay jumped out to a 3-1 lead after two innings, with Kenny Piper providing the big blow — a two-run homer against Orioles starter Trevor Rogers. Baltimore answered with three runs in the fifth to take a lead it would not relinquish, erasing the deficit and putting the game away. Rogers earned the win, pitching seven innings and striking out six while allowing three earned runs.
Rico Garcia closed it out with a perfect ninth inning, striking out two to earn the save, as the Orioles improved their hold on an otherwise uneven stretch of summer baseball.
