Milwaukee beat Baltimore 1-0 Saturday as Gary Sánchez's second-inning groundout scored Joey Ortiz with what proved to be the only run Trevor Rogers and the Orioles allowed all game.
Ortiz reached and eventually scored in the top of the second against Rogers, giving Milwaukee a 1-0 lead it never relinquished. That single run was all Gasser needed, as the left-hander held Baltimore to three hits across seven shutout innings, striking out two. Abner Uribe followed with a scoreless eighth, and Aaron Ashby retired the side in the ninth to secure the save.
Rogers was brilliant in a losing effort, striking out 10 and allowing just three hits and one earned run over eight innings — the lone blemish the Sánchez groundout in the second. Gunnar Henderson and Rece Hinds each doubled for Baltimore's most notable offensive contributions, but the Orioles managed only five hits total and never pushed a run across.
Baltimore fell to 75-80 on the season, now 4.0 games back of the final AL wild-card spot with the postseason window narrowing quickly.
