Milwaukee shut out Baltimore 3-0 Sunday as Cooper Pratt singled home Jake Bauers in the second inning off Brandon Young to give the Brewers a lead they never relinquished.
Pratt's line-drive single to left in the second put Milwaukee ahead and set the tone for a game the Brewers controlled throughout. William Contreras added a solo home run — his 18th — in the fourth to extend the lead to 2-0, and Pratt struck again in the seventh, driving in Bauers a second time with another line-drive single to push it to 3-0.
Young took the loss despite a solid outing, going six innings and allowing just three hits and two earned runs while striking out nine. Six Milwaukee pitchers combined for the shutout, with Jacob Misiorowski starting and spinning three hitless innings, DL Hall earning the win with 1.2 scoreless innings, and Trevor Megill closing it out for the save. Colton Cowser finished 2-for-4 as Baltimore's most productive hitter.
The Orioles fall to 75-81 on the season, now 5.0 games behind the final American League wild-card spot with the postseason effectively out of reach.
