The Baltimore Orioles sent right-hander Colin Selby outright to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday, Oct. 31.
Selby, 29, is a native of Chesapeake, Virginia. In 2025, Selby posted a 3.21 ERA with 14 strikeouts and two walks over 14 innings in 11 major league appearances.
An outright assignment takes a player off the 40-man roster without releasing him. Selby first had to pass through waivers, meaning every other club declined to claim him. Depending on service time and whether a player has been outrighted before, he can sometimes reject the assignment and elect free agency instead. Earlier the same day, the Orioles activated him from the 60-day injured list. As of publication, Baltimore's 40-man roster stands at 38 players.
Also on Oct. 31, shortstop José Barrero elected free agency, outfielder Luis Robert Jr elected free agency and right-hander Albert Suárez elected free agency.
