The Baltimore Orioles have signed right-handed pitcher Miguel Hugas, their 14th-round pick (410th overall) in the 2026 MLB Draft out of Mercer University in Georgia. Hugas, a native of Venezuela, posted a 6.17 ERA across 77⅓ innings for Mercer and a 5.19 ERA in six appearances in the Cape Cod League. He was one of four college pitchers Baltimore targeted in rounds 11 through 15 of this year's draft.
Hugas is part of a wave of signings Baltimore completed ahead of the Monday, July 27 deadline, with the club inking 18 of its 20 draft selections overall. Among those signed on the same day were fellow right-handers Garrison Sumner, Ross Norman, and Diego Gutierrez, along with shortstops Brayden Fry and Jimmy Anderson and catcher Leo Marrero.
