The Baltimore Orioles signed left-handed pitcher Colton Sampson, a junior college arm out of Seminole State in Florida, to a minor league contract on July 27. Sampson was among five undrafted college pitchers the club added once the 5 p.m. Eastern deadline for signing draft picks had passed, joining fellow left-handers Noah Chapman (UNC Greensboro) and Regan Hall (Illinois), as well as right-handers David Lally (Michigan) and Camden Wicker (Central Florida).

The quintet of undrafted signings came on an active day for the Orioles' roster, which also included the trade of outfielder Johnathan Rodríguez to Pittsburgh for cash and the recall of catcher Yohel Pozo from Triple-A Chesapeake. Baltimore had already signed 18 of its 20 draft selections, with high school outfielder Victor Salazar and right-hander Ross Davis the only picks who did not come to terms.
