The Baltimore Orioles optioned right-hander Codi Heuer to Triple-A Norfolk on Friday, Sept. 18.
Optioning a player sends him to the minors without exposing him to waivers, and he remains on the 40-man roster. Optioned pitchers generally must stay down at least 15 days unless they are recalled to replace an injured player.
Also on Sept. 18, the Orioles recalled left-hander Cade Povich from Triple-A Norfolk.
