The Baltimore Orioles signed right-hander Victor Padilla to a minor league contract on Wednesday, Oct. 28.
Padilla, 17, is a native of Santiago, Dominican Republic. He has not yet made his major league debut.
A minor league contract doesn't put a player on the 40-man roster, so the signing adds organizational depth without costing Baltimore a roster spot.
