The Chicago White Sox pounded the Baltimore Orioles 9-3 Tuesday night at Oriole Park at Camden Yards as Colson Montgomery and Junior Perez homered during a seven-run third inning, completing a three-game sweep that extended Baltimore's losing streak to seven of its last eight.

Erick Fedde (3-6) allowed three runs in five innings and Tyler Schweitzer worked the final four innings for his first career save. Orioles starter Trey Gibson (1-3) was knocked out in the third inning, yielding eight runs, seven hits and six walks in just 2⅔ innings. With a single by Andrew Benintendi starting the third, Montgomery launched a 440-foot shot to right-center for his 21st homer of the year. Two walks later, Tristan Peters blooped a single and Jacob Gonzalez followed with a two-run single before Perez's 409-foot three-run homer made it 8-1. Gonzalez added a run-scoring double in the fourth to cap the scoring.

The Orioles mustered two runs in the fifth on an RBI double by Dylan Beavers and a run-scoring single by Pete Alonso, but were otherwise stifled by a White Sox rotation that has now dominated this series. Benintendi and Gonzalez each finished with three hits.

Baltimore falls to 39-48, seven games below .500, and hosts the White Sox again Wednesday in a matinee to close out the series. The loss was the Orioles' seventh in eight games.
