Former Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco (still playing at age 41 with the Cincinnati Bengals) is featured in Season 3 of Netflix’s show, Quarterback.
And in one scene, he dusts off his old Super Bowl MVP trophy won with the Ravens during the 2012-13 season. “It's tarnished as heck,” Flacco says, as he grips it and explains the trophy’s been at his dad’s house.

That trophy, and Super Bowl ring, also landed him a massive contract, which was much debated by Baltimore fans as the years went on because of the limitations it put on spending on other parts of the Ravens’ roster. It was a six-year, $120.6 million contract. At the time, it was the richest contract in NFL history and included $52 million in guaranteed money.
But there was no doubt Flacco was elite for one playoff run – tying the NFL record for most touchdown passes in a single postseason (11).
At age 41, he’s also aging like a good wine. In March, he signed a one-year deal to be Joe Burrow’s backup in Cincinnati once again and can still sling the football like few others. He's also been a very likeable guy, which is probably what Netflix wanted to shadow him with cameras for its popular Quarterback show, which in the past has featured QBs like Patrick Mahomes and Kirk Cousins.
The Ravens haven’t been back to the Super Bowl since Flacco won that trophy.
Baltimore drafted Lamar Jackson at the end of the first round in 2018 and he replaced Flacco as the Ravens’ starter midway through the 2018 season when Flacco went down with injury, and Jackson has been the QB in Baltimore ever since.
