The Orioles have announced that reliever Keegan Akin had surgery to repair a ligament in his left elbow on Wednesday, performed by Dr. Keith Meister in Arlington, Texas. He’ll be out for the rest of the year and very likely until some time in 2027.
Akin, a member of the Orioles since 2020 and reliable member of the bullpen, had originally been placed on the 15-day IL on June 29 with a UCL injury and an MRI the following day confirmed the diagnosis.
On Monday, the Orioles transferred Akin from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL. He’ll be sidelined for much longer now.
