The Orioles (56-60) look to even a three-game road series Saturday against the Texas Rangers (58-58) at Globe Life Field.

Friday's series opener went to the Rangers 2-1, despite a dominant outing from Shane Baz, who went eight innings and struck out nine batters while allowing just two earned runs, both on a Joc Pederson homer. Leody Taveras went 2-for-4 with a double, and Coby Mayo drove in Baltimore's lone run, but the offense couldn't generate enough support to back Baz's effort.

Texas moved to .500 with the win and has won three straight entering Saturday. Rangers right-hander Jacob deGrom (7-7, 3.96 ERA) takes the ball for Texas. Kyle Bradish (7-10, 3.79 ERA) counters for Baltimore. With the Orioles now two games behind of Texas for hte third and final AL wild-card spot, a win in the second game of this series would keep Baltimore from falling further behind in a crowded AL postseason race.
