Texas Rangers beat the Baltimore Orioles 5-1 Saturday as Corey Seager's three-run home run highlighted a three-run eighth inning that broke open a tight game.
Seager finished 1-for-4 with the home run and three RBI to pace the Rangers offense. Jackson Holliday provided Baltimore's lone bright spot at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run and a double for the Orioles' only run.
Baltimore starter Kyle Bradish pitched well in a losing effort, going six innings and allowing five hits without surrendering an earned run. The Orioles took a 1-0 lead after the first inning but fell behind in the second, and the game remained close until Texas put it away with three runs in the eighth off reliever Grant Wolfram, who allowed a home run among the damage.
deGrom struck out nine over five innings to earn the win, and Texas's bullpen locked down the final four innings without allowing a run, holding Baltimore's lineup scoreless after Holliday's first-inning contribution.
