The Minnesota Twins beat the Baltimore Orioles 9-5 Monday as a five-run seventh inning broke open a tight game and handed Baltimore its third straight loss.
Josh Bell went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI to lead Minnesota's offense, while Austin Martin added a 4-for-5 night with a homer, three runs scored and a run batted in. Ryan Jeffers contributed two hits, a double, two runs and three RBI. For Baltimore, Coby Mayo went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI, accounting for most of the Orioles' damage.
The game was tied at three entering the seventh when Minnesota's Grant Wolfram came on in relief and allowed six hits and three earned runs in 1.2 innings, capped by a Bell home run that blew the game open. Baltimore managed two runs in the eighth and two more in the ninth, but the deficit was too steep to climb back from.
Dean Kremer was exceptional for the Twins, scattering one hit over seven innings with seven strikeouts and allowing just one earned run before handing it off to the bullpen. Trevor Rogers took the loss for Baltimore, going four innings and surrendering two earned runs.
