The Orioles completed the Adley Rutschman trade Tuesday night, acquiring 18-year-old outfielder Harold Rivas from Boston as the player to be named later. Baseball America ranks Rivas 10th in the Red Sox system; he signed for a $950,000 international bonus out of Venezuela in January 2025 and draws early comparisons to George Springer as a rangy, gap-to-gap center fielder. He's still years away from the majors, having played just 92 minor league games to date, but slots in as Baltimore's 26th-ranked prospect immediately.
He's the fourth prospect Baltimore landed in the deal. Right-handers Anthony Eyanson and Kyson Witherspoon are now the Orioles' No. 1 and No. 7 prospects, respectively, and outfielder Enddy Azocar checks in at No. 8. Baltimore also received catcher Carlos Narváez. In return, the Orioles sent Rutschman and catcher Jake Rogers to Boston; Rogers was designated for assignment upon Rutschman's activation.
Rutschman made his Red Sox debut Tuesday, batting third and going 1-for-3 with two walks in a 5-3 loss to the Blue Jays.
