The Orioles have recalled right-handed reliever Anthony Nunez from the Triple-A Norfolk Tides and designated bulk innings-eater Albert Suárez for assignment in a corresponding move on Friday.
Baltimore is in need of a fresh bullpen arm ahead of a critical series with the division-leading Tampa Bay Rays, after the Orioles were swept at home by the New York Yankees.
Nunez, who was an unexpected part of the Opening Day roster, will be back for his third stint with the O's this season. He has a 4.60 ERA in 40 appearances.
