The Baltimore Orioles optioned right-hander Trey Gibson to the Florida Complex League Orioles on Thursday, Sept. 24.
Optioning a player sends him to the minors without exposing him to waivers, and he remains on the 40-man roster. Optioned pitchers generally must stay down at least 15 days unless they are recalled to replace an injured player.
Also on Sept. 24, the Orioles selected the contract of right-hander Albert Suárez from Triple-A Norfolk and the Orioles transferred right-hander Kyle Bradish to the 60-day injured list.
