Malik Washington is a Baltimore kid — born in Glen Burnie, raised in Freetown, where his family helped run the community association and built a neighborhood park named after an uncle. He went to Archbishop Spalding in Severn, dominated the MIAA for three years, and chose Maryland over Michigan and half the Big Ten. He threw three touchdowns in his Power Conference debut — the most by a true freshman in the Power Conferences since Trevor Lawrence at Clemson in 2018. The 2026 season is his national coming-out party.

2026 Season
Washington returns as a sophomore on a Maryland team that went 4–8 in 2025. He committed to returning to College Park in late 2025 — "This is home" — despite significant portal interest.
