The Baltimore Orioles transferred outfielder Tyler O'Neill to the 60-day injured list on Saturday, Sept. 19.
Players on the 60-day injured list don't count against the 40-man roster, so the transfer is often made to clear room for another addition.
Also on Sept. 19, the Orioles optioned left-hander Cade Povich to Triple-A Norfolk, the Orioles optioned outfielder Heston Kjerstad to Triple-A Norfolk and first baseman Trey Mancini retired.
