Jon Gruden had never set foot on the U.S. Naval Academy grounds until last weekend. The former Buccaneers and Raiders head coach changed that with a game-day trip to Annapolis for his Barstool Sports YouTube channel, and the result is a 74-minute video that runs from a morning walk through the Yard to the postgame scene after Navy's 34-26 win over Tulsa on Oct. 10 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
Video Highlights
- A long walk through the Yard (0:22) — The biggest chunk of the video, roughly 25 minutes, follows Gruden around the Academy's historic campus on the Severn River.
- A stop at the Superintendent's residence (26:05) — Gruden sits down with Lt. Gen. Michael J. Borgschulte, the Marine Corps general who serves as the Academy's Superintendent, at his home on the Yard.
- Inside Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium (36:03) — A pregame look at the Midshipmen's home field, the memorial stadium a short drive from the Yard.
- Navy vs. Tulsa (50:06) — Gruden takes in the game itself, a night when quarterback Jackson Gutierrez ran for a career-high 232 yards and three touchdowns and accounted for four scores in all.
- Postgame (1:03:19) — The final 10-plus minutes of the 74-minute video pick up after the final whistle of Navy's eight-point win.
About the Game
Gutierrez carried Navy's triple-option attack against the Golden Hurricane, and the Midshipmen's only passing touchdown came on a 58-yard catch by Truman Brasfield, his lone reception of the afternoon.
