Kyle Hamilton is the best safety in the NFL — and it's not particularly close. Born in Crete to a professional basketball player father, he plays like a linebacker, covers like a cornerback, and diagnoses plays like a defensive coordinator. In 2023 he became the first defensive back in Ravens history to record 10 tackles for loss in a single season. In 2024 the Ravens moved him to free safety to shore up the pass defense; in 2025 they moved him up to the line of scrimmage. Both times Baltimore's defense was saved. His $100.4M extension in August 2025 set the all-time record for a safety.
