The Bears traded Roquan Smith to Baltimore for a second-round pick because they didn't want to pay him. Baltimore did — $100 million over five years — and hasn't looked back. He's led the Ravens in tackles in every season he's been here. He is one of only two players in NFL history with 130+ tackles in each of the last six seasons (along with Bobby Wagner). One AFC offensive coach summed him up: "He knows what's coming before the play and plays with reckless abandonment."

The Bears sent Smith to Baltimore on October 31, 2022 for a second-round pick, a fifth-round pick, and linebacker A.J. Klein — a haul that looks more lopsided by the season. He arrived and led the team in tackles for the rest of that year, then signed a five-year extension in January 2023. Butkus Award winner in 2017 at Georgia.
