The 62-Yarder
62
Yards · Arizona Program Record · 2024
Loop set the Arizona field goal record with a 62-yard kick in 2024 — the longest in program history. He did it without changing his swing. His kicking trainer noted he could hit 55–60 yards routinely, and the 62-yarder was an extension of his normal range, not a max-effort outlier. The Ravens had been watching him for months before drafting him 186th overall.
Tyler Loop was the first kicker ever drafted in Baltimore Ravens history. In 29 seasons the franchise had found its kickers undrafted or via trade — Matt Stover, Billy Cundiff, Justin Tucker. Loop ended that streak at pick 186 of the 2025 NFL Draft. Within days the Ravens released Justin Tucker, who had been suspended, making Loop the immediate starter. He went 30-for-34 (88.2%) in his rookie season and converted 44 of 46 extra points. He is entering his second NFL season as the unquestioned starter.

Tucker's Shadow
Justin Tucker held the NFL's all-time field goal accuracy record (90.7%) and made a 66-yard field goal in 2021 that remains the longest in NFL history. He was the standard for kickers in Baltimore for 13 seasons. Loop stepped into that role at 23 years old. His 88.2% accuracy as a rookie is solid — not Tucker-level, but comparable to most NFL kickers' early careers. The pressure of the comparison is real; the opportunity is also real.
