Vega Ioane

Offensive linemen don't generate traditional counting stats. Ioane's 2026 performance will be tracked through PFF grades, Pro Football Focus pass-blocking and run-blocking grades, sacks allowed, pressures allowed, and penalties — the metrics that tell the real story for an interior lineman. Ioane is the youngest of nine children, born in American Samoa and raised in Graham, Washington — an hour south of Seattle. He arrived at Penn State as a three-star recruit in 2022 and redshirted his first year. By 2024 he was starting every game at left guard for a Nittany Lions team that reached the College Football Playoff semifinals. In 2025, having lost weight and improved his conditioning, he posted the most dominant individual season by a Penn State offensive lineman in years: First-Team All-Big Ten, First-Team All-American, zero sacks allowed, two pressures allowed across 11 starts. He didn't allow a sack in his entire junior or senior season.

Olaivavega Ioane goes by "Vega" — pronounced yoh-AH-neh for the last name, from American Samoan Polynesian tradition. He is one of several prominent Samoan-heritage players drafted in recent NFL classes. His family is deeply rooted in the Pacific Islands community in the Pacific Northwest. He wore #71 at Penn State and carries it to Baltimore.
