The Baltimore Orioles recalled outfielder Heston Kjerstad from Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday, Sept. 23.
A recall moves a player who is already on the 40-man roster up to the major league club, so it doesn't require a corresponding 40-man move. On Sept. 19, the Orioles optioned him to Triple-A Norfolk.
Also on Sept. 23, the Orioles placed catcher Samuel Basallo on the 7-day injured list, the Orioles optioned left-hander Luis De León to Triple-A Norfolk and the Orioles recalled right-hander Trey Gibson from Triple-A Norfolk.
