College basketball is back at Xfinity Center on Monday night, and the two Maryland programs arrive at very different starting lines. The men are trying to climb out of the worst season College Park has seen in a generation. The women are trying to get back past the first weekend of the NCAA tournament.

Baltimore Sports Feed now covers both teams with live GameCenters, full schedules, rosters and player stats. Start at the Maryland basketball hub, or jump straight to the men's schedule or the women's schedule. Every game on both schedules links to its own GameCenter, which updates the score, box score and play-by-play automatically while the game is on.

Men: Year 2 for Buzz Williams Starts With Bucknell

Williams' first season did not go the way anyone in College Park hoped. Maryland hired him away from Texas A&M after Kevin Willard left for Villanova following the 2025 Sweet 16 run, and the rebuilt roster finished 12-21 and 17th in the Big Ten.

Big Ten media members picked the Terps 11th in the 18-team league this preseason. That's middle of the pack, but it's six spots higher than where they finished. The offseason was built around scoring, which was the biggest hole last winter. Boston University transfer Michael McNair, a 6-foot-5 combo guard who took on a bigger role in each of his three seasons there, was the final addition to the roster. Big man Pharrel Payne also decided to return, settling the frontcourt heading into the season.

The season opener is Monday, Nov. 2, against Bucknell at Xfinity Center. The non-conference schedule also renews the old rivalry with Virginia.

In Big Ten play, Maryland hosts Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, UCLA, USC and Wisconsin. The road slate runs through Iowa, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Purdue and Washington.

There's history in the building, too. The program is spending the entire season marking the 25th anniversary of its 2002 national championship.

Women: Frese's 25th Season, and Two Five-Star Freshmen

Brenda Frese begins her 25th season in charge, a run that includes the 2006 national championship and a contract that now runs through 2028-29.

Last season ended at 24-9 (11-7 Big Ten) with a second-round NCAA tournament exit against North Carolina. The roster has turned over since, with seniors graduating and some players entering the transfer portal, but two key pieces are back: Rainey Welson and Addi Mack both announced they'd return for 2026-27.

The newcomers are what has people talking. Frese landed two five-star recruits in Jordyn Jackson and Trinity Jones, and the 2026 class also included four-star forward Mimi Thiero, who committed after visiting campus in September 2025.

The Big Ten schedule includes a home-and-home with Ohio State, the only conference opponent Maryland will see twice.

How the Live GameCenters Work

Every Maryland game, men's or women's, gets a permanent page. Before tip-off it shows the matchup, arena, start time and TV channel. Once the game starts, the scoreboard, scoring by half or quarter, team stats, individual box scores and play-by-play refresh on their own every few seconds; no need to reload. After the final horn, the page becomes the game's permanent box score, and each Terp's line feeds his or her player page and the season stats.

Where They Play

Both teams play home games at Xfinity Center in College Park, the 17,950-seat arena that opened in 2002. Tip times and TV channels for every game are listed on each team's schedule page and update as networks finalize their windows.
