Trey Hendrickson

Trey Hendrickson was drafted 103rd overall in 2017 by the New Orleans Saints out of Florida Atlantic, where he was Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year. He played four years in New Orleans as a rotational edge rusher before signing with the Bengals in 2021 and breaking out with 14 sacks in his first Cincinnati season. After back-to-back 17.5-sack seasons made him the most sought-after pass rusher in free agency, the Bengals failed to give him a new deal and he hit the open market in March 2026. The Ravens had tried to trade for Maxx Crosby from Las Vegas — when that deal collapsed, they pivoted immediately to Hendrickson. He signed a 4-year, $112 million deal (max $120M with sack incentives) on March 12, 2026. He now faces Joe Burrow and Cincinnati twice a year.

Hendrickson played only 7 games in 2025, limited by a hip and pelvis issue that landed him on injured reserve in December. He underwent core muscle surgery and was projected for a 6-week recovery. The injury-shortened season — 4 sacks in 7 games, which projects to 9.7 over a full season — did nothing to dampen the Ravens' interest. Baltimore was convinced the underlying talent remained the same as 2023 and 2024. The $112 million commitment reflected that belief.

Hendrickson spent five seasons in Cincinnati, becoming one of the most productive pass rushers the Bengals have ever had. He held out before 2025 seeking a new contract, eventually got a raise to $30M for the season, but Cincy declined to extend or trade him and let him walk. He now faces Joe Burrow and the Bengals twice a year — a dynamic that should produce must-watch matchups throughout his Ravens tenure.
